I have graded most all of the Dream Vacation presentations with the exception of a few. If you are exempt, I have graded your presentations and your grade is current. If you have turned in make-up work, then I will update next week.
Monday I will pass out study guides for the final exam. The exam will be multiple-choice questions in addition to Cartoon (3 & 4 Blocks) & Restaurant Business Plan (1st Blocks) presentations.
See you all Monday!

My weekend was probably the longest in my life. Friday & Saturday nights were both spent at the funeral home with my Grandpa. Then, the funeral was Sunday which I was honored to sing at one last time for my Grandpa. It was overwhelming how many people came out to honor his life...about 1,000 people visited the funeral home and about 700 at the funeral. I hope when I die that my life has touched lives in the way that his did.

My Papa Day was in a bad accident last night in Broxton...and he passed way about 1 in the morning this morning. It's such a quick sudden loss. He was one of my most favorite people and I was his favorite granddaughter named, Kristi-Risti. :) I loved him dearly. He was a huge cut-up, but also an awesome dad and grandpa to his family of 9 kids. My Granny passed away about 6 years ago. He also pastored for many years and was one of the most Christian men you'd ever meet. He will be sorely missed!

My plans were to be at school today, but having to stay home due to some sickness.
Here are your assignments:
1st Block:
1. Blog & Coffee Geek Squad Attendance Sheet (Make sure the sub gets the Attendance sheet)
2. Remember the funny business name you found from yesterday? Think about the negative or humorous connotation that name carried. Create a list of 10 things to do or not to do when naming your business in Word/Publisher. Use the internet as a resource to find suggestions for business names (there is a ton of info online about this topic!). Format the document to look like a poster with a title, # list of items in a font size that fits the page, and a page border. Print one copy. Make sure your name is on the document. Leave in basket on my desk.
3rd & 4th Blocks:
1. Blog & Coffee Geek Squad Attendance Sheet (Make sure the sub gets the Attendance sheet)
2. Continue working on your Dream Vacation presentation. We will start presentations tomorrow. I'll give you about 30 minutes at the beginning of class to finish up and then I'll take volunteers. If no volunteers, I'll draw names at randon for the presentations. Don't forget the Bonus Point opportunities (look at the rubric on c-lab)! If you're bringing food and didn't tell me yesterday, send me an email -- kristi.gay@coffee.k12.ga.us
See you tomorrow!

1st Block: Create a spreadsheet in Excel (using the Function Worksheet Payment Scenario from yesterday as a guide) that will calculate the payment of the house you picked out online yesterday. Interest Rate is 7.5% (Divide the .075 by 12 since you'll be making 12 monthly payments). The loan will be for 30 years (remember to multiply by 12 for the # of months since you'll pay a payment every month). The principal is the amount the house is selling for. The spreadsheet should have: Merged & Centered Title, Shading, Picture of House, Interest Rate, Term (or period), Principal, & Payment Amount (calculated from PMT function).
3rd & 4th Blocks: Continue working on your Dream Vacation Presentation. I'm hoping for the presentations to start next Wednesday. Remember, we're out Friday, so that gives us 2 days to present all the projects. If you're planning to bring food for extra points, please choose today and let me know tomorrow so I can approve the item.
